Testimonials

Heather,
Great News! Now the ball is rolling.
Thank you for the conversation this morning and all the hard work you are putting into this. I realize you were reluctant to take this Case as it all needs to be Contested in Clark County - and again, I'll say it's worth it! :<)
I'll send an additional email later today or more likely over the Weekend...

Have a great Friday.

Dear Heather,

Thank you so much for obtaining a $3000 order from the judge for me.  We'll see if he pays it!  I appreciate it.
In looking at the requests for more documents and productions, I have some questions.
Interrogatory:
#11     I am not sure what counts as income.
#1     Did you get the Exhibit A attachment for obtaining IRS copies?  That is probably the easiest way to give them to her. Could you send it to me, if yes?
Thanks Heather!

My situation is unique and I was treated with competence and respect.  Even when I was demanding and time pressured in my requests I was always treated with courtesy and in a timely manner.

I consider the value of the legal assistance and documents received to be equal to the money spent!

I highly recommend this firm for discrete and excellent legal service.

- bainbridge lady from Bainbridge Island

Well done Lynda!  I can not thank you enough for your thoughtful and well prepared documents.  My last Will and Testament is perfect.  You captured my wishes so well.  My power of attorney gives me peace of mind, and the directive to  physicians was most provocative.  A very important conversation with my husband resulted from that!

- Kathryn from Bainbridge Island
Oh oh, wanted to say, as I meet others in my shoes, I get compliments as to the completeness and fairness of our documents. I wanted to thank You for that and expect that sense of gratitude to last for a long time.

Regards,

JW

Lovely my dear, and done with your succinct "bare-bones" style.
Thank You.
You were very supportive in court also, and so personable. Could not have asked for more!
Enjoy your Holiday with family, time off well earned I'm sure.

I absolutely was treated with respect and courtesy by the Law Office's of Lynda H. McMaken.  Cordial Divorce is just that.  My attorney, Heather Forrler, was kindhearted and consistently ethical, even when my husband's attorney was NOT.  Because of Heather I was able to obtain fair treatment and maintain emotional equilibrium.  No easy assignment in any legal situation, much less divorce.  I gladly recommend this  firm.  The value I received exceeded the money I spent.

- Jenny Creek from Suquamish

I was so concerned for my son that I contacted this law firm late in the afternoon, and late in the week, with a request to get before the court and protect my son.  I was seen immediately as soon as I called.  The timely filing for initial custody, and knowing my options was very reassuring.  I spent some money for the court process, but the custody of my son is priceless.  I strongly recommend this firm"

- Mike Geelhoed, Navy Submariner from Kitsap County

Again, I would like to extend my profound gratitude to you for assisting me through this extremely painful and prolonged process. Your counsel and professional conduct was dependable throughout.

- withheld from North Seattle

Please let me thank you for being such an effective representative for me at the settlement conference.  I had no idea what to expect, what to ask for or how to respond to much of what was presented to me.  I feel confident, from your help, that I have the necessary assets to prepare for the future - for the children and for myself.

I used Lynda McMaken to prepare estate planning documents.  I had not thought of "buying" a living will but Lynda advised me to do so for my husband and myself.  I agreed but resented spending the money.

I have just had the tragedy of losing my husband.  It is with a heavy heart that I write this, but I had to let others know what a blessing it was to have a document that allowed my husbands wishes to be KNOWN and followed.  I found out that some living wills are poorly drafted and have no legal effect.  Thank god for Lynda and her wisdom.  It saved me tens of thousands of dollars in medical treatment that my husband did not want.  And the peace of mind to allow his wishes to be followed.  Thank you Lynda.  Thank you so much.

- Susan from Seattle

"I used Cordial Divorce last year and was very pleased with the service I received.  I so appreciated the set of values and customer focus that your firm showed with me.  Thanks for your help."  Paula Kilbourn

- Paula from Puget Sound
"Thank you for everything!  Initially I was afraid to increase my legal fees by asking questions, but now I realize that I could have done more of the work myself if I had taken the time to be more educated.  There is a lot of work involved in getting a divorce.  A lot more than I realized.  Thank you for your patience as my husband and I worked for resolution to our issues.  I appreciated the reduction in my retainer too, as we neared completion.
- anonymous , book keeper from Kingston

"Ms. McMaken,
Thank you and to Ms. Forrler for seeing my son through this matter. Your phrase "sometimes you just need an attorney" was most fitting for this occasion. Again, Thanks"

- prefers to be anonymous from Seattle

I truly feel the divorce between my wife and I could not have been handled more smoothly.  Thank you.  I feel the value of the legal assistance and documents received was  equal to the money I spent. All of my questions, and that of my wife's, were answered in a timely and satisfactory manner.  Thank you again.

- Tony Reichmuth, Fire fighter from Kitsap County

I greatly appreciate all your hard work and you have done an excellent job on my behalf.  I greatly appreciate your help through this difficult time.  This contested divorce was over a year to resolve through the courts.  I was pleased with your handling of the trial and the success I now have with the parenting plan, allowing me to be the dad I want to be.  Even though the cost was over one hundred thousand dollars, the value to me is well beyond that and for my sons, priceless.  I will recommend you to my fellow physicians and others who need a top rated and successful litigator to protect their parental rights.

  Thanks again.

I would like to thank all of you for your deeds of kindness and well wishes.  THANK YOU ----GOD BLESS----JV

- JV, Landscaper from Bainbridge Island

"This was a very difficult and emotional situation for me, but I felt positive and was reassured by Heather.  It made it all so much easier."

- R. P. legal resident and domestic violence escapee from Western Washington

"Using Cordial Divorce was especially good for our children: we did not argue about divorce details or time with the children in front of them.  The children knew we were splitting, but they also knew that the divorce had nothing to do with them and they didn't, and don't, feel like it was their "fault".  If we had chosen to get divorced the traditional way, using separate attorneys, we would have spent far more money, and using PayPal to pay our invoices was great: easy, fast, and safe!"

- Ed Quesada, Professor from Bainbridge Island
"I was very happy with how fast Heather responded to my emails and calls.  And I appreciated how quickly I could get in to meet with Heather when I wanted to see her."

- Ed Hager, computer programmer from Bainbridge Island
"The clarification around options when it didn't look like we were going to be able to agree on what is best for the kids was especially helpful.  I'm glad we made the trip from Bellevue."
- Amy K. from Bellevue, young mother

We met with both attorneys and were impressed with their knowledge and caring. They helped us by working with us and allowing our marriage to end without turmoil. Yes, it was hard, but this law firm made it easier."

- Kristen Anson, Washington State Ferries from Mill Creek

"Both of us were treated with equal courtesy and respect, something you don't usually get when two people are involved in this type of process.  Heather treated us both with compassion and caring, and we saved a lot of money.  Thank you, Heather."

- Nancy and Greg Pigeon from Bainbridge Island

Thanks so much for all you did for us. Your patience at the end was especially appreciated. I wish you well, and will pass your name along to anyone I know who can make use of your excellent services. Thanks for offering couples like Will and I a peaceful and affordable alternative to the conventional legal system!

- Cathy Nickum from Bainbridge Island

Your calm, professional demeanor was reassuring and gave me confidence in your knowledge and skill. I appreciated your flexibility in scheduling meetings outside of the normal work week and at locations that were easy to get to without a car. I also appreciated that you detailed all the options available for a divorce in WA, with a description of pluses and minuses.

After my ex-spouse ignored the initial divorce paperwork, I appreciated that you sought an inexpensive, creative solution to ensure he received the documents at his last known address in Israel.

In addition, I am grateful that you kept track of all filing dates and ensured that the all necessary paperwork was filed as soon as the waiting period was over, without me having to remind you or ask what was going on with my case.

I am also grateful that you provided me with options to finalize the divorce without having to appear in court. This was a huge relief for me.

Lastly, I appreciated your thoroughness and knowledge of family law and that there were no surprises, except that the divorce was finalized about 30 days earlier than I expected.

- Deanne Boisvert, international couple

Lynda has provided Edith and me with extraordinarily thoughtful legal advice and counsel. She is an attorney who also shows rare community devotion. So when my family needed a guiding hand for legal work, choosing her was virtually automatic. We remain assured of fine service, with the fringe benefit of enduring friendship.

- Dwight Sutton, PhD, past Mayor and Council Member on BainbridgeIsland from Bainbridge Island

So often you go to people for services and they don't listen. Lynda always listens so she can understand our needs.

- Barbara Stedman, business owner from Silverdale

Lynda McMaken is exactly the kind of attorney most people seek but never find. She is sharp, well diversified, highly responsive and above all, fair and ethical. Since 1997 I have trusted Lynda with business law, employment law and my estate planning. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

- Kevin Root, internet sales pioneer from Seattle

I have been a friend and client of Lynda McMaken for the past ten years and feel very fortunate that our paths crossed in life. She is a special person.

- Cary Bozeman, past Mayor of Bremerton from Bremerton

While many people were involved in the effort to pass the island's Open Space Bond, Lynda's extraordinary contribution deserves special acclaim. She founded the political action group, Friends of Bainbridge, and took the lead in raising nearly $30,000 in small donations and coordinating the winning campaign.

- Neil C. Johannsen, past Director of Parks for the State of Alaska from Bainbridge Island

"Lynda was our legal counsel in New York City to capture funding for our projects. She was on our side of the table at one of the top law firms in Manhatten. She worked hard for our successful results and because of her we were able to obtain 3.8 million dollars in funding for three new corporations. We could not have done it without her.

- Vadim Pougatchev, MD and engineer, medical software developer from Poulsbo

As a public figure I needed to be careful about proceeding with my divorce. I choose Lynda McMaken because I knew she was an excellent attorney and that she would help me stay balanced as I went through my non contested divorce. Both my husband and I were treated fairly, thus avoiding the nightmare seen in so many divorces. Divorce is always difficult, yet Lynda's kindness and wisdom kept the process civil and emotionally manageable. I whole heartedly recommend her law office to anyone contemplating divorce, or needing business law or estate planning legal services.

- Chris Endresen, Kitsap County Commissioner from Poulsbo
